B+D5: Keith and Marie Zawistowski

Virginia Tech design/build LAB ‘s Keith and Marie Zawistowski work as instructors and architects reaches past the shiny detail and the glossy image. They thrive in calloused-hand projects,  their joints and muscles aching at the end of the long day.  They create fantastic projects that yearn to be touched, to be leaned against, to get used and dirty – the architecture can take it. Three recent projects, located in the neighboring western Virginia towns of Covington and Clifton Forge, provide foundations for economic development through the arts and locally sourced goods.
